Prayer Shawl Ministry

Do you knit or crochet? Christ the King Parish welcomes and encourages you to take part in our Prayer Shawl Ministry. All skill levels are needed: beginner, intermediate, or expert. The mission of this ministry is to prayerfully create knitted or crocheted shawls to offer comfort for yourself or someone you know who has a physical, emotional, or spiritual need.

The mission of the Prayer Shawl Ministry is to provide prayers, love, comfort, and caring to anyone who has a physical, spiritual, or emotional need. The shawls can provide not only physical warmth and comfort, but also a tangible expression of God’s love. We use our time and God-given talent to create shawls while praying for the recipient.

Anyone who can knit or crochet can participate. You do not have to formally join the ministry to make and donate a shawl. All skill levels are needed: beginner, intermediate, or expert. You provide your own supplies and work on the shawls in your own home at your own pace.  All sizes, styles, and colors are needed and welcomed. Only two requirements:  Pray for the recipient of the shawl and yarn must be machine wash & dry.

Psalm 90:17   Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and confirm for us the work of our hands; yes, confirm the work of our hands.

When you receive a prayer shawl, you receive the collective prayers of the Prayer Shawl Ministry asking God to surround you with His loving presence, comfort and care.
