I speak directly on stewardship about twice a year. Stewardship is all about the way in which we share our time, treasure, talent, and testimony. These four T’s summarize the primary gifts God has given us. Upon gifting us, the Lord asks us then to use our blessings not only for own good, but for the good of the broader community.
The practice of good stewardship begins with a grateful heart. We have to be able to see the blessings we have received and understand that they have their source in God. Thankful for what we have been given, we are open to extend our blessings to others. That daily exercise of receiving God’s blessings and sharing them with others is the very meaning of our existence. In other words, our joy is found in good stewardship. We have received the gifts of time, treasure, talent, and testimony. When we give thanks for those gifts and share them generously, we experience authentic contentment and peace.
This weekend, we are thinking of stewardship in terms of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal (BAA). Bishop Robert Brennan is asking us once again to share our gifts with the Diocese of Columbus. As an expression of our faith, we support the broader Church by participating in the BAA. We know that the diocese cannot continue its vital work without our generous support. And we know that our hearts will remain unsettled until we offer back to God the time, treasure, talent, and testimony we have received from Him.
May the Lord bless you throughout this week!
