Confirmation

• Program Purpose and Description

  "More than two thousand years ago, the first confirmation class met in a small, crowded upper room in Jerusalem." And when the day of Pentecost came... Tongues appeared to them as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:1-4) 
  
  Thank you for enrolling in the 2025-2026 Catechesis program. This year, your child will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, the last Sacrament of Christian Initiation.
  
  

  • We will use a Family Model of Sacramental Preparation to empower families to learn and share Faith.
    • Students will be placed in a small group.
    • Parents will receive a talk in another classroom simultaneously with students.
  • Confirmation preparation classes will be held on Saturdays at 4 p.m. in the church basement at Christ the King.
  • In addition to Confirmation Preparation Classes, Confirmation Students must 
    • Participate in service events throughout the year.
    • A confirmation retreat. Dates and costs will be announced later.
    • All families in Catechesis are expected to participate fully in the celebration of the Mass every Sunday and on holy days of obligation.
    • Pray every day
      • Personal prayer, family prayer, prayer memorization, Scripture reading outside of confirmation preparation
  • Only three excused absences are allowed per year.

  
  

• Requirements

  We kindly invite you to visit our parish offices to register your children.
  

  • Participation in Family Catechesis in the 2024- 2025 cycle.
  • Must be in 8th- 12th grade

  
  

  • Paperwork:  
    • Copy of the Baptismal and First Communion certificates if the child has received these sacraments. Payment in full is due at the time of registration.
  •  Program Fees: 
    • $90 per child, Max per family is $250. (includes books and the supplies for the entire school year 2025-2026)
